_EducEight Group
The EducEight group is an international network of eight researchers working on social and educational inequalities. We share research interests in educational pathways, inequalities and theories in the sociology of education and in educational research methods and methodology. The eight of us met at the
ECSR summer school on "Quality and Inequality in Education. Theory, Research and Policy" in 2006 in Prague
and became EducEight in 2008.
We organise international workshops in our areas of interest since 2007. Our workshops aim to offer something 'different' from mainstream conferences. We keep our events small and personal providing plenty of time for the kinds of open discussion which are difficult to achieve in larger events. Our philosophy is to encourage debate and exchange across disciplinary, methodological and national boundaries and to give consideration to both theoretical and empirical questions in our areas of interest.
